Regional Planning Program

The Community Development Office works closely with Regional Planners in each Association of Government region in order to provide direct assistance to communities.

Rural Coordinating Council

Coordinated by the Community Development Office, the Rural Coordinating Council is a grassroots initiative that seeks to better allocate time, resources, and strategies in rural Utah by increasing communication and collaboration with state and federal agencies, universities, and statewide organizations.

Regional Planning Program

In partnership with the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (GOPB), the Utah League of Cities and Towns (ULCT), and each of the State's Associations of Government (AOGs), the Permanent Community Impact Board (CIB) created the Regional Planning Program to deliver technical assistance and directly support communities throughout rural Utah. Through this program, the CIB will provide stability for continuous quality planning throughout rural Utah.

The CIB provides funds for participating regional Associations of Governments (AOGs) to commit a planner whose time and responsibilities will be dedicated solely to the CIB's core mission and goals.

The program seeks to establish a five-year program to implement the general goals of the CIB in each of the following five planning regions:

  • Bear River
  • Five County
  • Six County
  • Southeastern Utah
  • Uintah Basin
