About Housing & Community Development
Welcome!
Thank you for your interest in the Division of Housing & Community Development (DHCD). We invite you to learn more about our services and make full use of our resources. DHCD comprises ten major program areas serving local governments, community organizations, and developers. Our division:
- Helps communities strengthen their infrastructure, bonding capacity, and basic services — fueling healthy communities and a healthy economy.
- Leverages state and federal funding with private investment to expand affordable housing and strengthen infrastructure across the state.
- Provides funding, tools and resources to develop affordable housing.
- Administers community initiatives that support development costs in economically significant areas, including housing and transit-oriented development (TOD) considerations.
- Administers a wide array of federal grants, making funding available to communities across Utah.
- Provides training and technical assistance that make it easier for communities to access that funding.
None of this would be possible without our collaborations across the state with remarkable organizations and communities truly dedicated to improving life in Utah.
