Qualified Emergency Food Agencies Fund (QEFAF)

Qualified Emergency Food Agencies Fund is a restricted special revenue fund created by the Utah State Legislature during the 2008 General Session (House Bill 304).  The QEFAF program is funded by certain state sales and use tax revenues.  Funds available under this program are designated for qualified emergency food agencies within Utah.

Eligible activities - distributions received from the Qualified Emergency Food Agencies Fund must be expended by the qualified agency only for the purposes related to:

  • warehousing and distributing food and food ingredients to other agencies and organizations providing food and food ingredients to low-income persons; or
  • providing food and food ingredients directly to low-income persons.

Agencies involved in the above activities are encouraged to apply.

NOTE:  Only organizations approved by the State Community Services Office (SCSO) as a Qualified Emergency Food Agency are eligible to receive funds from this program.
